GRIPE at the 8th West African Clean Energy and Environment (eWACEE’20)

GRIPE participated in the 8th West African Clean Energy and Environment Conference (eWACEE’20). The West African Clean Energy & Environment Trade Fair & Conference (WACEE) is one of the most relevant renewable energy and environment trade fair in West Africa. The 2020 edition of the fair took place over a period of one month with 5000+ people  across the  globe in attendance

GRIPE at the conference had a  60minutes session titled  “Private Sector Sustainable Packaging Initiatives in Ghana”- GRIPE was represented by Kwame Asamoa Mensa-Yawson (Project Manager, GRIPE), Adwoa Coleman( Africa Sustainability and Advocacy Manager, Packaging and Specialty Plastics, Dow), Joyce Ahiadorme( Country Public Affairs and Communication Manager, Voltic Ghana), Kofi Gyamfi( Sustainability Lead, Plastics, Unilever) and Sylvia Ankomah( Corporate Relations Director, Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC) and Felix Baidoo( Sustainability and Responsibility Manager, Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC). The team from GRIPE used the opportunity to discuss the role of the private sector in the management of plastic waste in Ghana. The team through this highlighted some of the work being carried out by GRIPE in Ghana.
